St Mary's Cheshunt

Bell ringing

Bell ringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keep you fit. It also makes a glorious sound!

The Tower at St Mary's has eight bells dating back to 1911. We always try to ring for the Sunday 10.00am service and at 'specials' throughout the year. We also ring for weddings, mainly in the Spring and Summer, a valuable source of income for young ringers!

Currently we are looking to recruit new ringers for the Tower as several of our number have left us to go to university. We practice on a Wednesday evening, normally from 7.45pm until 9pm, with a 7pm start for learners. If you think you (or your children/ grandchildren, aged 11 years or older) might be interested in learning to ring, please do contact Patrick Flower on 01992 628259 or at Why not visit the Tower, talk to the ringers and have a go.

We are very friendly and 'being musical' isn't a necessity!
